Atelier/Collective

We have known David and Nina James for 20 years and are convinced they are around for the long haul. They are at the height of their game and the peak of their energy, skills and personal vision. They are operating under ATELIER Ministries NZ (registered charitable Trust) and are likely to continue ATELIER at for least another 10 years. We recommend David and his services in the visual arts without any hesitation. His leadership and management abilities have been proven for decades. Currently, he teaches visual arts at NMIT in Nelson while directing his own dealer gallery, ATELIER Studio|Gallery, facilitating ATELIER/Collective and continuing as an outstanding artist. He also organizes MAJESTY, an annual conference for artists of faith and other creatives.

David describes the ATELIER/Collective as follows:

“The definition of an ATELIER describes the workshop or studio of a master artist where assistants, students, and apprentices create together to release works under that master’s name. Our mission at ATELIER is to empower a community of artists and creatives to engage their call, develop their faith, and pursue their creative practice.
ATELIER/Collective is an online community – a location for these artists and creatives to connect via a private Facebook group. Within this collective, we encourage members to present their work, participate in discussions, add their perspective, and provide encouragement and support for fellow members.
Members of ATELIER/Collective may also post invitations, calls for submissions, and other announcements that help connect one to another.

We believe that art nourishes the soul of individuals, communities, cities, and culture.”
